Maddox Proposal

I often get to photograph my own family throughout the year, but this session was extra special. I photographed my uncle’s family this summer, and we invited his girlfriend and her kids to come have their pictures taken too! But surprise surprise, we had something extraordinary planned over a month before! Near the end of the session, my uncle got down on one knee and proposed! Woo hoo! She said yes, and then all their friends and family screamed with excitement from where they were hiding up the hill!

Jessie & Lance Engagements

Jessie’s family owns the amazing Thunder Creek Ranch in Arlington, Texas. It is literally a little piece of heaven, it is one of my all time favorite locations to photograph at right now. Jessie and Lance met each other at the ranch, so this was the perfect place for their engagement session! These horses are theirs, and were seriously the most perfect models. As far as animals go to be photographed horses are my current favorites. I absolutely love having sessions at unique places that really represent the couple/family well, and this is such a great example of that.

Russell Couple Session

We started out the Russell’s session in historic Downtown Grapevine, Texas. We had a blast exploring the area, and convinced Kyle that we were done taking pictures after we finished. Kelsey, his amazing wife, and I had arranged to surprise him with a second location at the Vintage Airplane Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. Kyle is in the process of completing his training to become a pilot, and this was so exciting for him to be around all these amazing airplanes!

Casey & Lauren Engagements | Fort Worth Water Gardens and Stock Yards

I met Casey and Lauren in college at Lamar University back in 2010. Lauren is a professional photographer too (check out her AMAZING work at her website here). It is soooooo nerve wracking photographing for another photographer, even if they are one of your best friends. I absolutely love how these engagement pictures look! They are such a photographic couple!

Randall & Taryn Engagements

I just love this sweet couple! We started their engagement session by photographing Taryn’s two cats and Randall’s two dogs. Taryn’s mom made each of them adorable ties and bows, and they each wore them so well. Then we went on a mini road trip down to Downtown Granbury. We started the session at a park down the street, then finished at the downtown square.

Here is the link to their wedding pictures a few months later: https://melissamaddoxphotography.wordpress.com/2014/04/06/randall-taryn-wedding/

Patrick & Jessica Proposal

Several months ago, I had the great honor of photographing my dear friend Jessica’s surprise proposal! Her Fiancé Patrick and I scheduled this special day weeks in advance. We originally planned Trinity Park, where they had their first date, but the morning of the scheduled proposal I drove by and discovered that there was a marathon happening exactly there then! I panicked! Thankfully Jessica sleeps in late, so I was able to call Patrick without them already being together. I called him and we decided to relocate to the gorgeous outdoor area in front of their wedding venue! His parents were in town from Louisiana and her family were hiding behind the barn! They all came out to surprise and congratulate the happy couple. It was pretty special for me, because I get to be in this amazing couple’s wedding in November! And I also was able to photograph her brother’s surprise proposal about a year ago, that blog will come soon! 🙂
